STILL webinar: energy systems for economically sustainable intralogistics

The EU wants its economy to be climate-neutral by 2050 at the latest. For the business world, that means energy will become ever more valuable, requiring intelligent management of consumption and usage. In the world of intralogistics, that entails choosing the right energy system for the propulsion of industrial trucks. Expert guidance is available via a webinar from intralogistics expert STILL on September 28, 2021.

What role will lead-acid batteries play in the future? What savings are possible with lithium-ion technology? And what are the prospects for fuel cells with regard to sustainability and cost-effectiveness? The experts at STILL are answering these and many other questions during a virtual event entitled “energy systems for economically sustainable intralogistics.”

A comparison of diverse methods of propulsion

The STILL experts explain, step by step, the advantages and disadvantages of the many propulsion systems that exist, based on criteria such as vehicle availability. For example, what type of drive can provide how much energy for how long? What constraints on uptime are imposed by the need to replace or recharge batteries, or to perform maintenance work? A further key factor in any cost-efficiency calculation is the infrastructure. Each propulsion type, each form of energy, poses its own particular warehouse challenges in terms of, for instance, charging points, maintenance, and the implementation of the energy supply system. Cost is another vital consideration: first, for the initial purchase (capital expenditure), and second, running costs (operating expenditure).

The right propulsion system for the future

Last, but not least, the future viability of fuel cells, and lead-acid and lithium-ion batteries need to be weighed up. What is each technology’s potential? And to what extent does it help avoid CO2 emissions?

The webinar will take place on September 28, 2021, from 10 am to 11 am CET, and from 4 pm to 5 pm CET, in German. It will be simultaneously interpreted into English, French, Spanish and Czech.
